Memories of Bubbles: THE LAND VERSION

 Wondering where the Bubbles chalets have disappeared when the boat from Besut first approaches the bay and realizing how much the vegetation on the beach has grown
 Being welcomed by Harick who looked and acted as cool as ever ( great with kids!)
 Learning from Harries, the chef, how hard it is to get hold of a Chinese newspaper on the east coast islands
 Waking up on my first night to learn a turtle had nested very close to my chalet and I didn’t hear a THING!
 Sipping by breakfast coffee while the sunbirds darted from flower to flower for their own morning cuppa
 Being entertained by the squirrel as it leaps from tree to tree and then crawls a la Spiderman across the back wall of the kitchen
 Failing to kick my caffeine addiction as I help myself to the coffee and tea in between snorkeling activities
 Lying on the beach and watching the eagles cruising along the wind currents
 Watching the giant monitor lizard beat a hasty retreat up the cold creek
 Mistaking the fruit bats for large moths as they flitted quickly around my chalet
 Plucking off a grasshopper that mistook my t-shirt for some shrub
 Flipping through the books at the dive centre in frustration as I fail to identify the fish that I’ve seen in the bay
 Waving goodbye to Dencoln and promising silently to return in 2009!

Memories of Bubbles: THE SEA VERSION
 Being torn between wanting to follow and wanting to withdraw when I spot an octopus and wondering if it’s the blue ringed version
 Swimming with the ikan bilis and observing in fascination as they swim in myriad formations
 Catching glimpses of the reef sharks through my fogged up mask EVERYDAY
 Feeling relief that the tube worm I found last year is still there
 Discovering more anemones with more clownfish or are they the false clownfish?
 Playing hide and seek with the gobyfish – they try to hide with their colouring camouflage on the bits of rock and coral while I try to spot them
 Resisting the temptation to pick up a sea cucumber and squeeze it the way I had once seen a boatman in Pangkor do
 Hovering in awe over the big parrotfish as it crunches on coral as if it’s popcorn
 Panicking temporarily & heading for the shore as quickly as possible at the sight of jellyfish in the water
 Thinking off at least five different ways of cooking a school of ikan bawal as they swim past me in the Hard Coral Garden ( just kidding!)
 Chancing upon a turtle in the little bay just in front of Bubbles

I love everything there, the beach, the chalet, the food, harick, eric, and everybody. Wish i can stay there longer with my good frens ...........huhuhu. it was a good one for me...

We had a wonderful time in Bubbles. The hospitality and the friendliness of the staff made us feel at home.

It was definitely a memorable vacation.

Hi "old man" Eric ,Ronnie,Gan,Mervyn,Dancoln,my fav cook,Wong and all at Bubbles,

We arrived home safely and everyone is now back to their own things. Just like to say "THANK YOU" for the warm hospitality from you great people. We love this relax & peaceful island resort. Good luck to Ronnie & Pei See for their coming new born.

Cheers n" hope to be back again next year for the fourth time.

Super nice Open Water course with Ronnie as cikgu, kind of gila-gila...but hey hey...you need to be a gila and free free to do all these kind of stuff.
